⭐️ 1 star – Extremely unprofessional, costly, and stressful relocation
We relocated from Dubai to Spain using Leader Relocations (Dubai), with delivery handled in Europe by Schmidt Global (Netherlands). This experience has been one of the most stressful and disappointing services we have ever paid for.
Everything was agreed in writing, including full door-to-door service and insurance coverage. The packing team in Dubai was the only positive part of this entire process.
After packing, everything went wrong.
Our shipment was delayed by over two months beyond the agreed delivery date. We were later told this was because we had not booked a full container and needed to wait until it was filled — something that was never communicated or agreed beforehand.
When Schmidt Global contacted us saying our belongings had arrived in Europe, they demanded additional payment for storage and a larger shared truck, even though the delay was not caused by us. We were effectively told that if we did not pay, we would not receive our belongings. With two children, school already started, and winter approaching, we had no choice.
Even after paying, delivery was further delayed for weeks while they waited to combine shipments with other customers.
Upon delivery, we discovered damaged items and a missing box, which we immediately reported. At that point, both companies began passing responsibility to each other:
Eventually, Leader Relocations admitted that although we paid for insurance, they never completed the insurance paperwork, and therefore refused compensation. Their only offer was to refund the insurance fee — after our belongings were damaged and one box completely missing.
Since then, our emails have been ignored and the case has been effectively closed.
This was not just poor service — it was lack of accountability, poor communication, unexpected costs, and complete disregard for customers once payment was made.
If you are relocating internationally, especially with a family, think very carefully before trusting these companies.
I should have posted this much earlier but got busy with the current situation. Just wanted to warn those approaching relocation companies that I had a disastrous experience with Leader Relocations. They gave me the lowest quote at the time and seemed professional enough. I was moving for good to Lisbon from Dubai at the time and took with me only my cherished possessions but no furniture. Half my stuff arrived smashed to pieces and mainly the kitchen stuff that they packed and I paid them for that packing! The stuff I packed mostly made it because I packed them in hard plastic boxes. Out of 10 plastic boxes only 4 survived. The rest were smashed too! I don’t want to make this post too long but thought I should warn everyone. I have pictures of all my stuff, how they arrived, how they didn’t even have fragile stickers on the breakable items that they packed and all the email communication! I’m happy to share details or photos with anyone who wants to. Mind you, I contacted them so they bear responsibility for their poor handling but they weren’t interested to cooperate. Please stay away if you value the stuff you’re moving!
Beware of leaders relocation company and their agent in UK . they have not fullfilled their obligations to us as per our agreement and they did not do anything to resolve the issue.
Terrible Terrible, Red flags, possibly a scam
My items were picked up in Dubai on 13 Apr 2017 and were supposed to be delivered in Zurich within the agreed time frame mentioned by the booking agent (Jackie) which is mentioned as follows. This time line was provided to me on June 6, 2017 (after the shipment was en-route & was clear that it is group-age shipment). Transit time 5-6 weeks,Clearance 10/12 days, Delivery 1-2 weeks: Total= 68 days.
More than 90 days without our belongings in a new country with family and kids. Still there is no information where the shipment is and no dates committed.
Have you been pay to say that???? their have move my furniture only from Dubai to Muscat and it was a real nightmare. Phone call in the middle of the night because the lost the PIN that allow them to pass the boarder. And when their reach my furniture are in pieces!!!!!! And because i did not purchase their insurances as per them it is okay to hang over damage furniture. Home cinema broken, sofa missing screws, cupboard scratch, shoes cupboard broken, etc the list for the rubbish job is long…… Good luck to the people that still go for this company.

Bad service and unprofessional people
I’ve shipped my household (25 cartons and bike) from Abu Dhabi to Germany against a hefty amount. they promised to ship in 50 days, I received after 100 days, more than three months after chasing through phone and many emails with a missing carton. Their agent in UK Greens Movers are also the same, they sent the shipment with a driver without any helpers! He reached late at night and he has to carry everything alone from his truck to my place. The bike was inside a wooden crater and he doesn’t have any idea how to download it, I had to help him while suffering from back pain, it took us Around two hours to break the wooden crater using some house tools and download the bike, then noticed that they have left the front light on so battery died and I had to push it it up the slope to reach the garage while it’s too heavy. the whole process since removing until delivery was a nightmare, I had to buy almost half of the shipped items which costed me a lot. Since last Monday I sent them three emails asking about carton no..14 but no answer!,
I sent a container and some goods by groupage (combined with other customer’s goods to same destination). Leaders does a lot of business this way which is why their prices are often low (so if you are paying for a container ask whether they will use it to ship another customer’s goods as well as your own and then try for a discount). They promised the goods would arrive together. They didn’t and there was a four month gap (try living with half a bed and wardrobe for four months). They knew this would happen when the goods left Dubai because the other customer with whom my goods were to be sent cancelled their order, but Leaders said nothing and only told me when I called them to ask where the rest of my stuff was. Lots of empty promises, apologies but customer service and communication were terrible. Then the agent at the destination delivered the remainder of the goods unannounced and just dumped them even though I had paid for them to be reassembled (door-to-door service). I wouldn’t use this company again or recommend them to anyone no matter how cheap their prices.
I was shipping my furniture to Australia. I felt that my furniture was hijacked. Their 2 Australian tie up companies wanted to extort me and bargained with me to pay them more money.
One time a man who sounded like he was drunk called me and talked to me in a rude and threatening way.
At the end they literally threw my goods inside my house and left.
And of course when I tried to email them, they didn’t respond.
I used Leader to ship my personal effects to UK and I must say I am very impressed with them! Excellent packing quality and customer service. Their agent in UK too were excellent. I have already recommended them to several of my university co-workers.
The most disgusting services. Never ever go for leaders.
